This may be an old topic but todays picture of this awesome eagle reminds me of last year fishing the clarion right across from the pump station, I swear that I saw an eagle going in an out of a nest about 250/300 yards up river from the pump station. Has anyone documented this nest? or was I to heavy on the coors lights that day....

We are aware of that nest. The eaglet in that nest didn't make it last year though.

I've seen eagles at my place across the river from Clear Creek State Park, both mature and immatures ones.

I remember the first time I saw one on the Clarion. A bunch of us were sitting on my deck and one flew up crick. We were all amazed.

Last year I saw a mature pair flying up the river with a crow chasing close behind.

I know of two nests in my district and believe it likely there are at least two other nests that I have not found yet.

I think there is a nest somewhere above Ridgway and perhaps even above Johnsonburg that we don’t know about. I also think there is a high probability of a nest somewhere on Toby Creek that we haven’t located yet.

I say that because of the amount and type of eagle activity we see in those areas just before and during the nesting period.

We remain pretty tight lipped about the nest we do know of to prevent a lot of human disturbance around the nest sites. One is very easy to get to and would be very easy for too much activity to interfere with the nest. The other nest is not as easy as the other but is still a very short walk to where a person could be right under or entirely to near the nest. We monitor them and will post them as restricted access areas if we find the need to keep people from getting too close.

So far we know of five eaglets fledging from the two nests in the past two years.

We got buzzed by a pair of them last year as we were kayaking on the river just below Millstone.

Two years ago watched one fishing back at Buzzard Swamp.  Now there's a really good angler.

I know there are some on Redbank in Brookville that are on Private property.  I have seen them flying over the river.  They are awesome.
