A wealth of information all at one site. Probably some bias in it some where based on your own perspectives - but definitely worth taking a look at. Unless you have already seen this info I think you will be surprised. Of course I am sure that there are no surprises here for RSB and probably not Doc either.

Perhaps just a wee bit biased since the author works for the forest service and is part of the Kinzua Quality Deer Coop. BTW I haven't heard much of them since their 2006 report seemed to indicate things wern't working out how they planned.

There was a report on the net for 2006 for awhile but either I forgot how to find it or it has been pulled. It didn't paint a very good picture after you got past the back patting and actually read the thing.

Here's one of the better part in my opinion.. this is from DEER HUNTERS ----

Quote :

Based on responses of successful hunters to an informal survey, hunters were more satisfied in 2008 than in 2007, perceived that deer were bigger, antler characteristics were better, habitat was better, and were more inclined to return to hunt in one and five years. Twice as many in 2008 thought deer density was “just right” (48.6% in 2008 vs. 22.2% in 2007).

But of course those that are "nay-sayers"  (a.k.a. complainers) will say those hunters were bias because they harvested a deer

Of course that may have something to do with the shi--y weather we had in 2007 and the resulting number of year older bucks showing up in 2008. We will see what 2009 brings.

S-10,

From your corner of the world -link me to some other site where there is a collection of habitat information that is as informative as the one I put up that has no bias in it.

Doc ,

Tks for posting the link - haven't had time to look at it but I will.

Observer---Wish I could but we all know that it is nearly impossible to find ANY subjective info that doesn't have bias in it depending on the views of who did the research or wrote it up. I used to live very close to the Irvine research facility where Stout works and spent quite a lot of time at their deer research pens before the Eco terrorists burned the place down. It was interesting but the research and results was from a tree growers point of view.

you calling anyone Biased is like the pot calling the kettle black.

i mean come on unless you are a miserable old deer hunter you would refuse to see any positives in anyones point of view.

Look who is talking, you can't even remember what you stand for. First you tell Doc how you fish with bait, then you claim to be a 100% fly fisherman, then Doc has to stop you from attacking anyone who doesn't fly fish, then you call me biased toward deer after making several posts stating you don't care about deer and are only interested in what is good for your pelletheads. Then when you get called on that you change and are all for what is good for the enviroment. At least I am constant and have been around long enough to question things rather than believe everything I am told. You want to continue to attack me you best come prepared.

You are full of shit I don't bait fish much at all if any. I will use bait for none trout fishing but that is about it.  I never stated I am only concerned with trout you assume that because of my name.  You do nothing on here but attack anyone other than your opinion. you twist the facts so they fit your agenda.  You seem to think you know where i stand.  You really think anyone one who agrees with anyone other than yourself is a tree hugger that is out to stop hunting.  From what i see you got a lot of balls calling anyone biased look at yourself and tell me you are not biased in your opinions we all are.  That is just part of being human.  I just think you are full of it and I am sick of reading your crap.  I respond because i think you need put in your place.  You are an old bitter deer hunter who can't except that things are changing and you won't see hunting in PA being what it once was.  I am glad I have a good pair of waders becauseI need them to walk through all your crap.

Lets see, now you have gone from being a 100% fly fisherman to a sometimes bait fisherman. Not only do you has a bias towards your pelletheads, but they have to be a particular type of pellethead. You post that you don't like Goldens and wish they didn't stock them after showing a photo of a dead golden you caught on a previous thread. You don't know from one post to the next what you stand for. You also can't make a post without name calling which tells me you don't know much or you would use facts. I don't have to twist facts with you, all I have to do is bring up your previous posts to prove my points. You've done all the work for me. I debate folks on this site and others partly to learn but you have nothing to offer so do as you promised on here before and ignore me.
