Over the next 5 days I'll share some GREAT ideas about homebrewed cover scents from a recent article by T. Edward Nickens...

Should save you some money

Quote :

Stuff a pillowcase full with aromatic vegetation from your hunt area. Things to gather: green leaves, pine needles, pieces of bark, moss, acorns - even dirt. Tie a knot in the top.
Prior to a hunt, dampen the pillowcase with water and toss it in the clothes dryer with your clean hunting duds.

Gather 1/2 gallon of acorns; add a double handful of green pine needles if pines occur in your hunting area. Boil them gently in a gallon of water for 30 minutes. Let the mixture cool. Remove the nuts and neeedles, mash them and boil again in the same water. Let the mixture cool, then strain it through cheescloth. Store the liquid in a refrigerator. To use the cover scent, pour into a spray bottle.

I'm not so sure the wives will like this one

Quote :

Collect enough pine needles to fill a five gallon bucket. Boil in a large kettle with 6 to 7 gallons of water. Strain the needles out, then pour the liquid into the washing machine set at the lowest load setting possible.

Toss in clean hunting clothes, and wash using the presoak cycle.

This produces a very intense pine scent.

Clean the washing machine by washing a few old towels in hot, soapy water.

I suggested using your last scent formula to the BOSS......                   was her answer.

She suggested I go to Penn's house and use his washer since he is closer than you.
