Allow me to brag about the doe I shot at rougly 40 yrds this morning. She stopped for a minute and I aimed and shot......
Saw smoke and LISTENED to where the doe ran. An ole timer shared with me to listen after taking the shot.I heard limbs breaking and then a thud. I quickly reloaded my flintlock gathered my things and off we went looking.

Saw no blood but laying another 30 yrds away was my deer. This was my first doe with my Lyman Deerstalker 50 cal. rifle. The bullet went through the lung and exited out the neck severing her wind pipe.She looked to be 2 years old; maybe 120lbs before dressing. I hope to have pictures to Doc by tomorrow to share.

I have been butchering since 11:00 am and needed a break so I decided to share my success with my friends

I just knew after reading your great post about the first day hunt you would be sucessful....  

you understand the "BIG PICTURE" on the deer program and are alert enough to see the beginnings of the results in your area....
