Well my area s back to normal... deer hunters have gone home with most of them a little dissappointed but all blaming the nasty weather.

most saw deer but did not shoot for various reasons....

Of the 14-16 hunters I "hang" with ever year this year's resulst were far below average.... BUT.....

..I did not hunt
..one Ohio camp had no one there this year.. health reasons too
.. anohtgher camp had 5 less hunters than they average..
..and of course the weather was BAD

I am aware of the following harvests at the 13 local camps....

3 bucks..
a small 7 point taken in Brockway
a small 7 point - nearby
one NICE 8 point - nearby

4 does.. all within a mile of here
.....2 were buttons, but considering the rain and morning fogs that is sort of understandable for this year..

Not a good start for this area.. and considering all but a handful of hunters have "left the building" it may be good hunting after Xmas or for sure next year will be better

Lots of hunters in our area ... significantly more than past years as we brought more to the party and others did as well. The improving weather and numbers of hunters nor the best habitat in the history of us hunting the area ( which goes back to the 1950's ) helped. No shots fired ... 3 bucks and 3 doe in over 2 dozen camps with many staying through wednesday. Worst season ever ... for seeing deer, seeing bucks, getting shots and getting deer. Sorry if this sounds like complaining, but after 4 really hard hunting days in which I stuck it out through rain and sun ... I am discouraged about our future. Hardest part is the mentored youth who will not be back ... he thought it was quite silly sitting for 9 hrs to see a coyote and 3 doe.
