Took some time to scout my deer haunts while back for the fihing opener in elk county. Wow is all I can say ... deer shite everywhere. Certainly found the winterover area for the local deer pop. Also picked up two ticks as my son did as well. Be careful.

I have found the same just in general observation.. Im attributing what seems to be an increase in the Polk Twp. and surrounding areas deer population to the terrible first day conditions this past rifle season. The last three weekends that I have been up I have seen plenty of deer in the fields, more than I have seen for along time. This past Friday I seen 25 to 30 near the road in Travis's field with my headlights not a spot light!! I havent seen that many deer togther in that field for a couple years... Also seen a large herd in Winger's field Saturday night.

this past weekend while at camp we saw more deer than ever before during the "off" season. i have been going to my in laws camp(polk twp off game school rd) for about 10 years. it's the most deer i have ever witnessed. they are all over the place. i can't wait to check them out when they get their horns. i can't wait for hunting season.

I take the Clay Plant, Game School, then past Travis, and 949 towards Sigel every morning at day break, and this year you had better be on your toes. There are alot of deer in the fields and there are deer scattered the whole way on gamelands and state forest. I'm even seeing them along the berms in the early afternoons (3ish) on my way home. It looks like it will be a good season, as usual.
