Rained all day down here in SW Pa. Saturday.  I did elect to take my crossbow out in the evening to the same stand I kiled my buck from to try to fill a doe tag.

Saw no does but did see 2 bucks, one of which was bigger than the one I shot.smile/eek.gif Only good thing was for my sanity is that he never presented a shot even though he was with 50 yards for quite some time.

I hunted a DMAP area from daylight til 11:00 in the morning and didn't see anything. Had some guy set up within 75 yards of me at first light, stayed there til around and moved to another area.

Was back in the woods by 2:45 and at 6:15 decided enough is enough and started out. About halfway back to the truck saw a lone doe and thought if you're dumb enough to stand there until I remove the lens cover from my scope I'll shoot you. She stood there so I shot her,  went about 30 yards. No pictures, just wanted to get her skined and take a shower when I got home.

We cut her up on Sunday and sliced the steaks last night.

She was the first deeer I've seen since the first day.

Are you really old enough to remember when there were huntable numbers of deer on the gamelands?

I went out for squirrels instead, since all my tags are south of here.  With any luck I'll be down on Thursday, Friday ,and Saturday.  Of course they are calling for rain.  dd

Took two days vacation and hunted Thursday, Friday and Saturday with the ML. Saw six deer in three days and none presented any shot opportunities. My son only saw one deer over the three days and it was a small buck. Very frustrating.
