I will be wandering around Clear Creek state forest this weekend. So if anyone sees a guy who looks lost dressed in camo with an orange vest and hat say hi. If someone asks you for directions on how to get back to 949 that will be me. I have no sense of direction. I spent a lot of my teenage years not knowing where I was in those woods. My parents got tired of worrying and wondering where is he going to come out of those woods at today, that they restricted me to not cross 949 from our camp. I don't remember the name of the dirt road our camp is on. I think it is the first road north of the state park (sense of direction again).
RSB If your around I would be pleased if you checked my license. Then I could add your name to my list of notable WCO'S that I have encountered.
This might be the last time my father gets up there to hunt. So if any of you know George Miller from Sharon, Pa. Stop by and say hello.
Thanks
 Gary

Don't think I won't quit my job to go hunting cause I've done it twice and will do it again!

If you get so twisted around that you end up in Elk County I might bump into you. I generally don’t get down to Clear Creek, except on the west side of the river, unless Roger Hartless is requesting my assistance.

Good luck!

I did not see much in Clear Creek over the weekend in the way of deer.  I did manage to see one gray squirrel and also a bobcat on the way to where I was hunting on Thursday afternoon.
I did manage to make it over to Elk Co on Friday morning.  We were over by aroryo? bridge looking for grouse.  We kicked out two(I heard them).  They sure are steep hills over there.  I plan to check that place out later.  dd

We had a good weekend. I saw 3 deer a doe Wednesday afternoon,a buck Thursday morning in the front yard of the camp and a doe Saturday morning. I saw a bear Friday morning. My father was the only one hunting deer all he saw was squirrels.
What a difference up there from when I started hunting there in 1970. I can remember when there were herds of 50 deer there. In the 80's I can remember when the deer were eating everything there. You didn't see an acorn on the ground now the ground is covered with them.
I'm glad that I was able to take my father there this year. At least one good thing came out of my losing my job from this economy. We will most likely never hunt there again but I will have great memories from there.
