I will be using a red lens on my flash light while going in and out of the woods while dark this season. My son-inlaw used a red lens from the service issued flash light. I found it was just as good if not better to walk into the woods with. You did not have to re-focus your eyes everytime you looked away or up front of your path. It really did not alert others/ animals of your presence in the woods. When he was at his spot he changed to a yellow lens to alert on coming hunters of his location.

on a side note if anyone is ever interested in hunt fox at night with a preadator call a red lense is a must and i must say hunitng Gray Fox at night is a blast.

is that legal? i thought it was only legal to hunt racoon at night.

it is perfectly legal any land predator that is legal to harvest is legal to hunt in season.

yep at night its legal and it is really a good time.  Fox have a way of sneaking in it can be a rush. i am talking shoot gun range shooting.

ok i found it, just new to me

Raccoon, Coyotes, Fox, Skunk, Opossum & Weasel: Any hour
during open season, except during the regular antlered and antlerless
deer season, or extensions, when hours are sunset to one-half hour before
sunrise.

            Sorry, I read that wrong.   My eyes just aren't what they were a few short years ago. Neither is anything else for that matter.

            Now about those choc. chip cookies?????/
