Palone, Isabella, Schleiden & Schreffler voted For.
Delaney, Boop & Weaner voted Against.

Sunset provision allows them to re-evaulate at a later date.

I'm so happy to see this added opportuntiy for deer hunters...
Thaks to any of you who took the time to let the BOC know your opinions !!!

I have been very active on this issue.  And it has been a goal of mine to see some form of compromise when it was all said and done.  I am very pleased with the outcome as it addresses most of the concerns that the sportsman of Pa. had on this issue.

Kudos to the PGC and this BOC.

Lets just hope that the PGC learned it's lesson and begins to track crossbow participation, revenue and impact and has something to present all of us in three years.

Now I just have to re-tool my Parker Cyclone with a red-dot.

Not so sure the UBP would agree with that

I too have been involved with this issue for about 4 years now  and had some "heated debates" over the topic.

Those that were against them will still whine and complain... that's just their nature anyhow...

In the long run it was good for the sport of deer hunting.

It will allow an opportunity for a new weapon to be tried and allow some folks to stay active in the fall hunting seasons..

All the negatives like more wounded deer, lazy folks will use them, long distant shooting....ETC...

they were all very similar to the agruements about the deer program.. mainly personal opinions... and not much if anything backed by facts or studies...

I'll start shopping for my crossbow soon.....

and like most guys that will use one ---

I'll start practicing and testing my abilities, especially on the range (distance). I'm thinking 30-40 yards at BEST !!!

HAPPY CROSSBOW DEER HUNTING PA !!!

I'm glad it's finally over for awhile.

My Carrera is going to collect some dust.

Now to pick up a 375fps crossbow!

What are some good ones???

Buff,

Most are 350fps or under.  Barnett has the Predator which is shooting 375 and BowTech has the Stryker which is doing 423fps.

Hard to go wrong with a Horton or Parker for compound style and Excaliber for recurve style.  Parker has a new line of Recurve styles out there new for 09.

I would go middle of the road performance wise, say between 300-350fps.  That will do anything yo want to out to forty yards.

I shoot the Parker Cyclone which is rated at 350fps.  Has a collapsible stock and very compact limb design.  Nice for in the woods and fast.

I hear they are on backorder most everywhere though.

I use one at my home in Beaver county, the problem I feel is that they are so heavy.
