When we first got that extra half-hour after sunset to hunt I thought it was a good idea from experiences, especially for archery season..

I am not so sure niow..

Right now it is 7:55 and the time is up.. trouble is .. I have not been able to see my feeder out the window and its only  20 yards from the window .. and its been like that for at least 15 minutes  ??????

Last night I quit at 5:35pm because I could not see my
cross-hairs on the scope ????

What it's been like out there every day ????

At legal quitting time on any night it is WAY too dark to see what you are shooting at let alone what might behind it. At legal quitting time you can’t even see fluorescent orange anymore unless it is close enough to touch it.

If a person shoots at quitting time they pretty much had to have used a light to see their target or their sights. I can’t see my sights at fifteen minutes before the end of shooting hours and never even tried to see them at the end of legal shooting hours.

So far though most hunters do seem to be using the good judgment to quit before it is too dark to see what they are shooting at.

When I was out squirrel hunting last week,I found that I tended to leave the woods at sunset.  Too dark to see.  Once I got to the fields back by the car it was much brighter.  Of course we still had most of our leaves still on the trees.  dd
