I used another vacation day today and went to Redbank to the not so secret hole.  I was there before 6 am.  I figured that after the rain we've had and fishing mid-week would be good.  As soon as I got there I saw a big Palamino that is about the same size as the one I caught recently.  This one wouldn't bite though.  In fact nothing wanted to bite.  I caught two in two hours.  That was rather discouraging.

I was by myself today and decided to try some place different.  I had heard of guys catching trout on North Fork below the spillway just above Mike's Comet Market in Brookville so I decided to check it out.  The place is full of trout.  I stayed there about four hours and caught 41.  No, I'm not kidding.  I caught all of them on nightcrawler halves.  Another guy came after me and said that he had caught a bunch earlier in the morning.  He proceeded to catch some more.  He was using wet flies.  Eventually I ran out of crawlers and the fish had slowed down anyway.  I bought more crawlers at the Ace Hardware across the street.  Mighty handy that is.

I finished up the day below the Iowa Bridge.  I caught five more there which brought me up to 48 on the day.  I probably could have got to fifty if I really felt like plugging away but it was getting hot outside and the flies were buzzing around me so I left.

We still need more rain.  The creeks hardly look any different than they did before the rain we got.

2007 Trout fishing thus far:
259 trout in 13 trips
23.5 in. Palamino, 20.5 in. Brown, 20 in. Brown, 19.5 in. Brown, 18 in. Brook, 18 in. Palamino
