fished driftwood 1st day and did decent.  i caught 13, 7 on wax worms late morning to lunch.  then after lunch went back to the water and the trout started to rise.  i tried the wax worms and maggots but they were not interested.  so hurried back to the truck for the 3wt.  found that a 14 adams was the ticket.  landed 6.  too bad i did not have the rod rigged and at the water after lunch, i lost about 45 min of the best rises while rigging my leader.

Well from my days of fishing Driftwood ill bet it was one of 2 flys hatching.  Either a blue Wing olive or a Little Brown Stone fly.  These stone flies hatch in the current up on driftwood so I am betting it was them.  They are usually a size 14 or 16 and an adams would work farly well.

Fish On!!!

i did not see BWO"S although i did expect too.    what i did see were blue dun and march browns with a few stones too.  tried to run up stream to follow the hatch after it died out but we did not see them in a couple of other stops.
