If any of our members/visitors ties their own flies and are looking for some field tester for them.. I sure would like to give them a try on the Clarion River or a local stream..

Why I would even post a photo of them and tell how well they worked for me !!!

I sure wish I would have had some today....


after the wax worms were gone I caught three on a little white Mr. Twister.  power bait brought nothing and I threw everything else in the box..

I just know drifting some sort of fly (nymph probably) would have got some more...

they were coming up to the surface every now and then and grabbing something..

I did not see any hatch, but they were feeding on something..

even spotted "flashing" near the bottm of the hole...

were you fishing the Clarion??  I am guessing the some sort of caddis fly right now.

Humm not mush up there other than midges and a few caddis. I have never hit much in the way of hatches up that way but hopefully if the water continues to improve that will change soon enough.

there were bugs ( gnats) flying around every where maybe they were eating them ????

That would be the midges and north fork is loaded with them.  I have watched trout jump all day long to midges there.  small flies but a lot of fun to catch trout with.
