Well thank to these photos I will now have to refer to my Clarion River Smallmouths as NICE ones.....

Because Neville's photos show some GREAT ones from Lake Erie ....

I know what your saying doc.  I used to catch NICE one out of the susquehana and Sherman's creek in the spring when I was a kid.  Upwards to 18 - 20 inches once in a great while.  Nothing like the one that come out of Lake Erie on a regular basis.  But I do think the ones out of the river fight a little better.  dd

Nice fish Joe

Thanks Rich!  We had a great weekend and caught boatloads of fish.  It was the best fishing I've had in the past few years but now I'm spoiled.

Those are some fantastic Smallies.  Thanks for passing along the pics.  Those would be fun to try and fight in the river wouldn't they Doc?  The biggest one I ever caught in the river was only 18 inches and I had a heck of a time landing it.

I can't imagine the fun it would be trying to land one like that from the Clarion  with the strong currents !!!

Saturday the boat was blowing so fast it felt like we were in a current or trolling.
