I fished today with my Cousin Scott.  We started below Heath Station.  My first fish of the day was a nice Smallmouth about 15-16 inches.  I caught a couple other smaller bass and eventually caught a Brook Trout.  Another fisherman there caught two and kept them.  There don't appear to be many trout left in that area.  I think it gets fished pretty hard.  The river has warmed up a lot.  The colder water from Callen Run doesn't extend down very far anymore.  This surprised me a bit since we've had a lot of rain and haven't had much heat.  If you're going to fish for trout in the river now you better look for the tributaries.

We crossed over the Belltown Bridge and headed up towards Ridgway.  We stopped at a nice hole that I remembered fishing before.  It's kind of tough to describe.  It's above Halton a bit.  The road takes a sharp left up a hill and there is a small feeder stream that comes down the hill and through a pipe.  Well below that a bit there is a nice hole.  Anyway, I caught a Rainbow and several bass.  The bass action has definitely picked up big time.

Next up I had the bright idea to park at the Sandy Beach park (I think that's the name) and walk down Mill Creek until it empties into the river.  We walked and walked and walked some more and finally turned around.  We were both pretty beat after that.

We made one more stop though.  We tried the outflow of East Branch Dam.  I caught two Rainbows and a Brook and lost another Brook.  Scott caught a Rainbow and lost another one.  So at least we ended the day on a positive note.
