HB 2575 Hanna (D)  Amends Title 34 (Game) further providing for deterrent fences for deer, bear and elk and the payment of claims for damages by certain elk; imposing duties on the Department of Agriculture; and providing for the establishment of the Elk Damage Fund. The bill states deterrent fences for bear may be constructed where bears are damaging or destroying beehives; deterrent fences for elk may be constructed where land is being damaged by elk. The bill authorizes the commission to construct or enter into contracts for the construction of elk deterrent fencing. Payments for elk deterrent fencing would be made from the Elk Damage Fund, which is established in the legislation.

HB 2404 Reed  Amends Title 34 (Game) by adding that a "safety zone" would include, when applied to properly licensed furtakers when trapping within a permanent watercourse and using traps submerged in water, or any area making use of any special permit issued in accordance with this title or commission regulations, the area within 50 yards around any occupied dwelling house, residence or other building or camp occupied by human beings, or any barn, or stable and the area within 150 yards around any attached or detached playground of any school, nursery school or day-care center. HB 1676 Levdansky  Amends the Tax Reform Code by adding a section to dedicate sales and use tax revenue for transfer to the Game Fund and the Fish Fund. The bill requires 0.00116 percent of the revenues collected from the tax imposed would be annually transferred to the Game Fund and requires 0.00058 percent of the revenues collected from the tax imposed be annually transferred to the Fish Fund.

HB 2672  Staback  Amends Title 30 (Fish) providing for guiding principles in fisheries and aquatic resource management decisions. The bill states that in all fisheries and aquatic resource management decisions, the commission would be guided by the principles of best management practices utilizing scientific analysis supported by verifiable data with equal regard for the social, economic and recreational impacts of its decisions.
