here's the most recent pdf file for DCNR... what it's about. goals, etc.. a good read IMHO..... I carry this one around in my brief case as well as the wilds and some from forestry when at sportsmens clubs etc

after reading it one can see why hunting is not a focus of OR often mentioned by DCNR... and is the main concern for the independant agency we know as the PGC ----

hunting is of little concern to the DCNR except when it comes to controlling deer populations at low levels to allow re-generation of forests.... other than that ... it's not their concern or problem.

I agree that is their position---They have over 43 million earmarked for growing greener projects and only one project even mentions hunting as one of several benefits derived from it. Nearly 10 percent of the population persues hunting as a recreational activity and the DCNR controls the activities on 2.4 million acres. You can read they are also going to try to influence what goes on outside the state forests. They also control some of the money that goes to the PGC so they have a lot of influence over them. There is a lot of good can be derived from what they are doing for everyone but hunters and possibly rural landowners.
