Dan Surra who is NOW in charge of the Pa Wilds Program will be at the Warsaw Sportmens Club on Wednesday the 17th at 8 pm.

Dan spoke for about a half hour and then answered question before heading to Harrsiburg.

I was more than pleased to hear his opening remarks when he said part of his new job is to assure hunters that the Pa. Wilds program in  NOT anti-hunting. He promised that their webpage was going to be changed to reflect that hunting is a big part of the recreation scene in Pa. He also said he hopes there will be a place to post photos of successful hunts here in Pa..

He is currently trying to speak to all sportsmen's group to re-assure them of that fact.

He also stated that part of the plan is to keep our forest clean and green...

He also mentioned that the marcel shale program and its good and bad points.

It was interesting but sounded very political to this guy...  which came as no surprise... he talked about how he worked hard to get Gov Rendell elected and even mentioned how Rendell was shocked to see his first elk when Dan took him there to see the area.. Dan said that the governor did not even realize we had elk in Pa........ ??????????

there were many in attednace that do not like the idea of changing things to promote tourism while it appears that nothing is being done to create good paying jobs to keep folks in the area...

It was interesting and I'm glad he came..
