Anyone follow it much?  The Bud Shootout will be this Saturday already!!!  Hard to believe it is here already.

I will be interested to see how Gibbs does since the team went to the Camry this year.

Also, Dale jr. with Hendricks.  You want to talk about some pressure now that he is on a top notch team.  If he does not do well, the car or the team will not be the blame....

Nah not much.. Haven't missed listening to, watching or being at a cup level race since 1992. And oh by the way I was a Jeff Gordon fan before 90% of the people ever heard of him. Say what you want about him, he is still one of the best stock car drivers ever.

I would like to see some match races where they take the 10 best drivers from this era and put them in a stock car from a different era and see how they perform. I think the results would be interesting.

Be part of the solution and not the problem!!

Alot of the personal side to racing has passed with Dale sr.  You used to look forward to the bumping and deliberate spinouts and the intimidation that was commonplace.

Now everyone is on thier best behavior and bumping and attitudes are looked down upon.

Many of the hard core fans are being alienated as well because of this.

Time will tell if the wave continues.

The Bud Shootout.  Junior looked pretty strong.  How bout them Toyotas..  After a rough start last year, they look to compete this year.

i was really into nascar for quite awhile but now with nascar making all these changes and
really taking everything away from the sport that really made it i'm getting away from it,
in most sports it's contact, like football, basketball, hockey, soccer, and even baseball at times, etc. nascar used to be like this and now they aren't allowed to even nudge each other even stewart got fined for just saying sh** by accident
early days they battled it out start to finish and now i think the late dale was the last real
competitor in racing as it always was.
even the other day stewart and bush got into it and drew big fines and probation where as
in the past they would just duke it out and afterward would go have a beer with each other
just my oppinion

I agree with ya notime.  A gentlemens sport it is not and they are losing hard core fans that used to be the base.

I've been a NASCAR addict for more than twenty years.
Never been to a race but I am a loyal viewer.

I also feel that they took the country out of racing and made it more "politically correct." There is some talk about "letting boys be boys" but I think the "on track" rules will still be enoforced ridgidly.

Lets face it, the Petty's and some select other teams had a few tricks up their sleeves, back in the day.
It was not an even playing field. NASCAR didn't have the resources to inspect cars in great detail and a slippery crew chief could tilt the odds in ways that had nothing to do with driving talent.

Now it "is" largely about driving talent and also team work in doing things right to prepare the car.

I doubt we will ever again see the excitement level that comes with drivers "really and actually risking their lives."

For that --- I watch PBR.
