Took a few photos of some elk while l was down looking for sheds.

there's an elk farm right down the road, but i've never seen one in the wild. good shoot'n. thanks.

Yeah there's a farmer about 30 miles from me that has 6 elk in a pen.

Shed, That last bull is the one from last year that only grew the tiny broken off looking antlers.

He's fairly old from what I understand.

I caught him napping today. He wasn't happy getting a wake up call at noon....lol

I found #36 today.

If he keeps growing like he is now he's gonna be impressive.


He is no longer comfortable with people getting to close to him.

He is hiding out now in an area that is fairly void of humans.

He's not far from town, but in an area that most people don't go in to.

Now while it may look like I'm close to him. I'm not.

I'm about 40 yards from him, hiding behind a big tree.

The second and third pics are of him racking his antlers through the tree in hopes that I'll take the hint to leave him alone.

The first one is when he realized I wasn't going anywhere without the sample I came to get from him.

After he wandered off about 100 yards I got my sample and left. I came back through the area about 20 minutes later and he was laying back where he had been. I gave him a wide berth and he never moved.
