I have orioles here but have had no luck getting them to a feeder using a "nectar." How does the jelly thing work? |

Bow, We use an Oriole feeder but fill it with the same plain sugar water we use for the hummers. Tried the so called "nectar" and they would not touch it The jelly feeder works just how it looks. They eat the grape jelly out of the cups. Have found that they only like grape jelly and not jam. I would think they'd eat orange marmalade but it cost a lot more than jelly. We tried offering orange halves on screws above the jelly cups at 1st but they would ignore the oranges and eat the jelly. Mike |

Thanks, I tried orange halves -- no luck. But when I say "nectar" I was referring to my own sugar/water mix as used for hummingbirds. The dang bees took it over and the orioles stayed away. Actually they often were right next to it while pulling tent catepillars from their tents, but they still wouldn't touch the nectar -- bees? |
