Last evening this little guy appeared in the yard. He put on quite a show going up and down the tree upside down. I think it's a juvenile yellow bellied sapsucker? First time I ever saw one and only have the Pa. bird book to go by.
PRNC your right this new camera is a blast. I did have some problems sizing pics for the net, and was doing them in 300 dpi and losing quality. This one is 72 dpi, hows it look to everyone?

Thanks

When you begin to question why it is you hunt and fish, you only have to look into the eyes of a child who had just seen their first deer or caught their first fish for the answer.

looks great. i think it is a ybss. that's the only one that has the white mark on it's wing like that.

i've been using the software that came with the camera to post process. after transfering the photos to the comp, i use zoom browser to go through them. deleting blurs and keeping the good ones. if i want to trim one, i do it in zb. just click on the edit tag and them trim. i also use the advanced tab in the trim screen. if i want a landscape i click on maintain original. then if i want to use the rule of thirds, i click on that tab. it puts the grid lines in to help with the thirds thing. then i save it with initials that i would recognize. when i get through them all, i close zb and open digital photo profesional, also came with camera. i find the photos that i want to work on. some will be at the begining of the list, some at the end. depending on alphabetical order. i open the photos one at a time, right click on the open photo, select the tool pallet option. the tool pallet opens. using the rgb tab for jpg photos, i drag the cursers back and forth to adjust brightness, then contrast, then saturation, then hue, then sharpness. when i get it to where i want, i click "file"(upper left of screen). "select convert and save". this screen gives you the resize option. i've been making everything 800 wide and 300 dpi. after i save it at 800wide, i open it at 100% and touch up the sharpness if it needs it.

Man I am getting old! smile/eek.gifI typed this message out before and forgot to hit the send key after reviewing it.  smile/bash.gif
In any case prmc THAT was the info I was looking for. Until you mentioned the camera software I had not even thought about using it after I downloaded it. I have been doing all of my edit work in Adobe Elements 7 works great for the pics but it is a bear to understand when it comes to prparing pics for web use.
Think I got it now. Here's a few I just did.
Man I would love to sit and chew the fat about pics with you some time over a couple of brews. Let me know if your going to be up my way.
I cant thank you enough for the great info.
