A new feature has been added to the host site for the trivia game..... I can now see everyone's ISP address and if necessary "ban" that ISP from playing.... seems folks are cheating on MANY of the different games and this feature has been added to stop some of that...

MY NEW RULE ----

NO more than one person in a family can play the game on any given day... two entries from the same ISP on the same day will result in that ISP be locked out of the game completely...  

SORRY but some of us enjoy playing just to play .... and see no reason for cheating which has now been proven to be taking place by some....

Sad thing is there was no cheating just Penns aligations.  

I'm really not sure to whom you are directing this, but I can assure you there has not been any cheating on my part.  I'm sorry that you feel this is necessary, but you must do what you must do in order to keep the natives happy.  I am one of the most honest people in Punxsutawney and very active in my church.  I can't even fathom the idea of cheating, especially on such an insignificant waste of time.  I was playing for the sheer amusement, and I'm sorry if my intelligence level is superior to the rest of yours in some aspects...but then again, on the flip side, yours is higher than mine in other ways.  Thusly, we have balance.  I will no longer partake in anymore activities on this site so that some of the lower creatures might be able to fulfill their egotistical needs by proving that their IQ might be higher than George W. Bush.

I did not feel that anyone was cheating.  I really don't care regardless.  I do it for fun and friendly competition.

Penn showed how easy it is to cheat on this game but that did not prove that anyone did cheat.  Heck, one of my goals was to beat flyfishersgirl one time.

dmps i agree.  She is smart with this trivia stuff i thnk we need a sports trivia again then ill beat her.

Aww, dpms, that's sweet of you!!  :-)  We'll have to play a different game sometime, not on here, that we can compete against.  And Flyfisher is right.... I will suck at sports, there is no doubt.  Anything with music, movies, tv and sometimes history I'm rather good at.

I was not accusing anyone of cheating prior to recent activities.... I think it is obvious Penn proved how easy it is to cheat... I posted saying that the site ( NOT ME) added a feature that allows me to see ISPs....

I,m sorry I may not have worded my last post properly.....

If more than one family member plays on any given day and I feel there's cheating I'll cut off that ISP.....

I have been saying all along that I did not feel there has been cheating.....

As long as I know there are two or more family members playing and honesty is the policy.. I have NO PROBLEMS...

The point I was trying to make is I can now see ISPs which up until last week I could not do.... and it will help IF cheating is present....

Please continue to play...

but do not be surprised if sports questions show for one day up next month ... give some of us dummies a chance at 10s...

penn, i think that you are wrong. rule #1 says ebm and his daughter are out.

i haven't played the game and shouldn't comment. but.
i see no reason for anyone to cheat.
if a person knows the material, not only should they get a perfect score. they should also be able to complete the game in less time. if you are unsure of the material, no amount of time will get you a perfect score.

i just hope this doesn't end up changing the site forever.

Yes it dose .Read doc's new rule We play on the sme puter so we get locked out

read my last post... I'll not stop two people from playing on the same computer as long as I do not suspect cheating is taking place...

I felt it was not fair that not everyone would be gettting the same questions... plus if I choose that setting I can not make it different catagories each day.. it's always a "mixed" bag of questions.....

If you folks want to give it a try I'll set it up that way next month ...

I like everyone getting the same questions.  That way we can make comments on the trivia game page and everyone will understand them since we all got the same questions.
