It has been horribly slow for me this year. Did not hear one bird this past Saturday. I have alot of confidence the later the season goes if I can get a response but responses on non existent for me this year. |

I hate to say it again, but IMO our season begins too late. Especially in our more temperate areas. I know the timing of the season is supposed to cause the least disturbance to breeding but come on, how much can we really disrupt turkey breeding. If anything we are disrupting nesting but I have only found one nest in 25 years of hunting. I was sitting at my favorite spot Saturday and I had to stomp down the thigh high weeds so I could see. We have 300,000 archers chasing bucks all day during the rut and I don't see much interference to the breeding. |

The woods are greening up fast this year. Even in the non temperate zones. dd |
