doc. thanks for the info. i know last year the chief and i were talking with 2 water way conservation officers in brockway on the sunday of the 1st weekend and they said they can't get the ph level worked out that's why they had the piles of limestone sitting in the woods near the gameschool. last year they tested at richardsville, it was o.k. they stocked the fish, came back the next week and the ph was sky high and the fish were gone. i love fishing north fork i know they are working hard to fix it. it's such a beautiful stream to fish. we'll se you next weekend. rich, how bout it here in erie? i think winter might finally be over. |

if the rains don't quit pretty soon i guess i'll be talking fish at the sigel hotel as you'll never get close to the streams . i do love north fork but as you know how slippery the creek bed is then you add hi water and you have the making of a hi risk going in situation in ice cold water. maybe the younger fisherpeople could handle it , but us older fellows it could be pretty hard to get out. |

With any luck, winter is over, but I wouldn't bet on it. I've seen snow in all but june, july and august when I lived in Waterford dd |

The PH issues on North Fork explains why the fishing gets good in the upper ends of the fly area. The water seems a lot better from about Deemers Camp down. | |||

no time? was that you a couple years ago that fell in north fork at richardsville? it had rained all day friday and quit around 6 p.m. the next day the creek was pretty fast, high. this poor guy lost his footing and fell in. i grabbed his pole and my brother in law helped him out. |

I know that it wasn't me(nobody else was around) that fell in that creek, but that is one of the slipperiest creeks i have ever fished. dd |
