That is a crime! All that history and nothing left to show for it. I have been told though by someone in the know that there is a move on to reconstruct one of the old buildings from photographs and it will house a museum of donated historical items related to the school from retired WCO's. Now "THAT" would be something worth helping out with. Even if you dont agree with everything the Game Comm. does if your a hunter you should be proud of the fact that Pa. was the first in the nation to have such a training program. If anyone wants to read about the history of the Game. Comm. and it's officers no one tells it any better than retired WCO Bill Bower in his series of books: State Officer and Guns or Game One Man in Green Working in God's Wild Garden All The Men in Green When you read what some of those guys had to go through back in the days it will amaze you. Great reading folks and I highly recomend them all. Contact Bill at: Bill Bower 153 Redington Ave. Troy, Pa. 16947 Spinner | |||
| When you begin to question why it is you hunt and fish, you only have to look into the eyes of a child who had just seen their first deer or caught their first fish for the answer. |

I've seen pictures of the old game school. It looked like an intersting place. I know the shooting ranges with all the cut stone is something else. I've never figured out what the brick building on the way to manners dam is. I hear that the rifle range is being worked on. Doc, did you check out the area they lumbered off on the way to the game school? |

I'll haqve to let Brian know that the rifle range was closed. I was hoping they were just fixing them. The area that they logged was on both sides of Game school rd. It goes up quite a ways up the service rd towards the deer exclosure on the top of the ridge. It kind of caught me by surprise last deer season. |

When we were in Brockway last weekend for the 4th we went through the Brockway museum. There was a display case in the museum dedicated to the Old Game School. I also walked up the service road where they had a lot of logging this past year. I noticed a lot of stump sprouts(maple?) but not much of anything else growing yet. dd |
